The Giants fought hard Saturday. And won.
It wasn’t Matt Moore‘s best outing, but not his worst either. He pitched six innings and gave up seven hits, four runs–one was a home run–NO walks and he struck out seven.
The Padres took away that run and then some with a four-run top of the fourth inning. No problem, the Giants evened it up in the bottom of the inning. Hunter Pence reached on a Padres error, advanced to second on Nick Hundley‘s ground out, and scored on Orlando Calixte‘s single. Matt Moore followed with a single, Gorkys drew a walk and Nunez drove two runners–Calixte and Moore–home to tie it up.
The score stayed tied through the ninth all the way to the 12th when Kelby Tomlinson scored on Hundley’s walk-off single.
The final score was: Giants 5, Padres 4
We won one. That makes four wins in the last ten games. I still hear a little bell ringing in my ear—Philadlphia wants us to take their place at the bottom. Maybe the White Sox will get there before we do.
