SF Giants-one step forward, two steps back

matt moore 07.07

The Giants lost again Friday night. I’m blaming the Pod People. You know who I mean. The guys we’ve been watching play since April. They left about ten days ago, but it looks like they’re back.  Hopefully it’s just temporary.

Matt Moore had a horrible outing. One of his worst. He pitched three and a third, gave up five runs–one was a home run,  12 hits, NO walks and one strikeout. He tied his record for biggest number of hits allowed. I’m not sure what is happening, but this hasn’t been his year. Maybe pitching coach Dave Righetti can get him sorted out.

All that wouldn’t have been so bad if the Giants’ bats had made it to the party.  Denard Span‘s showed up at the last minute for a solo home run in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to make a difference in the outcome of the game.

The final score was: Giants 1, Marlins 6

Rookie prospect Miguel Gomez–aka GoGo–made his MLB debut Friday night. He went 0 for 1. Welcome to the bigs Go Go!

Shout out to Philadelphia. They still have our back.
