I don’t know about the rest of you, but I definitely think the Giants are snakebit. I read quite a few comments from other fans who are keeping the faith–in their humble opinion, this is just a phase. Like our second half last year.
Remember last season? This is how we all felt from the All∗Star break until we were eliminated by the Cubs. Bochy’s picture says it all. It’s worth a 1,000 words.
The Giants will pull out of it. I have faith. I have hope. And I believe in a little Giants magic. But seriously, the bleeding has to stop.
Here’s the deal. We’re off to a disastrous start. So be it. You know what counts? Our finish.
We’ll see more injuries. BTW–this year’s theme is shoulders. A few years back it was obliques, then hammies. This year it looks like we’re sacrificing upper torsos to the baseball gods.
We need to get our outfield sorted out. And now our starting rotation has a question mark. Again. We have a closer, though–he just needs the chance to show us what he’s got.
The Giants obvioulsy had trouble getting something going in Saturday’s game against the Rockies. Joe Panik hit a solo home run in the sixth. Hunter Pence drew a walk in the eighth and scored on Brandon Belt‘s double. Belt scored on Panik’s single.
Matt Moore had an awful outing, allowing six runs–three HRs–nine hits, one walk while he struck out four.
The final score was: Giants 3, Rockies 12
I came out from under my covers for this? I’m going back and staying. Until Sunday. Then I’ll come out. I’ve signed up for several events in the “Who’s Been a Giants Fan Longer” pissing contest. I won’t win. If you read the posts it sounds like some of these people were around for Christy Mathewson‘s debut.
That’s ok, because the prize is the very, very old winners choice—a Brownie Button or a chest to pin it on.
