The Giants game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday was a disappointment. There’s no other word for it.
I know it doesn’t count. I know it’s just for practice. We could fill the whole head of a pin with what I know. And I know this–at first it was a tough game to watch.
The Giants got beat up pretty badly. Especially Jeff Samardzija. He had a tough time in the first inning. He faced six batters and gave up a couple of hits and a walk. Luckily he got out of it with only one run scored. He enjoyed a 1-2-3 second and a 1-2-3 third (he struck out the side). In the fourth inning he gave up back-to-back jacks. The fifth inning was worse. All-in-all, Samardzija gave up six runs on nine hits and two walks. He struck out five.
The Giants broke up the Brewers’ shut out in the seventh. Belt drew a lead off walk and Jae-gyun Hwang followed with a single. Gordon Beckham singled, scoring Belt and Hwang scored on Nick Hundley‘s sacrifice fly.
The final score was: Giants 4, Brewers 6
The Giants face the Chicago White Sox at 1:05 pm Monday with Johnny Cueto on the mound. Looking forward to a Johnny Beisbol start! You can hear the game on the radio through MLB.com or watch the White Sox broadcast on MLB.TV.
