Like Matt Cain not so long ago, Jake Peavy wants to know “how do you like me now?” Come on folks, most everyone I know has been pulling for Peavy–rooting for him to put another W in his book. Yesterday he did just that. Let’s face it, Peavy’s had some good outings lately, but the wins have been elusive.
He had some help, but how about his own defense? Did you see that play at first base? I gave him a 10 for effort, 9.5 for form, and 0 for the out. Too bad–if it had been up to me, I’d have given him the out for the attempt alone.
It was another typical Giants game, a one-run win. It seems to be the theme lately. I’m not complaining, no sir. A win is a win is a win. I like saying that better than a loss is a loss is a loss. Keep those W’s coming.
The most important thing is–we beat LA. Beat them yesterday, the day before and won the series. That’s all a Giants fan wants. To play LA and win the series. We don’t have to beat them every game. Although you sure won’t hear me complain if we do.
There wasn’t much scoring happening on either side, the Dodgers new 19 year old phenom pitched a tough game, the Giants didn’t score until the sixth–Joe Panik singled and Brandon Belt’s dinger scored them both.
LA’s center fielder and last year’s rookie slugger hit a home run for LA in the seventh. Lucky for us it was a solo shot.
Manager Bruce Bochy used his bull pen again, maybe not as much as Saturday, but the bull pen held the game for Giants and the final score was:
Giants 2, LA 1
oh, and PS–Casilla got the save.
Speaking of Cain, he’s set to pitch Monday night. Game time is 7:15 pm and will be on NBC Bay Area and KNBR 680. I miss Kruk & Kuip. For a fun game time atmosphere with fellow Giants fans, join the group SF Giants Game Time Thread and Chat on Facebook. Here’s the link:
