SF Giants Yes! They did it again

imageThe Giants pitching is shaping up to be just like we hoped–Jake Peavy followed by Chris Heston, George Kontos, Hunter Strickland and Santiago Casilla pitched a shutout game against the A’s last night at AT&T Park.

Peavy pitched five innings, allowed two hits, one walk and struck out three. Heston gave up one hit, Strickland gave up one hit as well, but struck out one while he was at it, Kontos fanned two batters and Casilla struck out one.

The Giants scored two runs in the first inning: Denard Span led off with a base hit and Joe Panik drew a walk. Both scored on Buster Posey’s double. In the seventh Matt Duffy hit a single and scored on Gregor Blanco’s base hit. The final score was:
Giants 3, A’s 0

Practice ends after the 1:05 pm game today at the Coliseum in Oakland. Matt Cain will be on the mound for the Giants in the third and final game of the series. You can watch the game on CSN-CA, the MLB Network or MLB.TV. KNBR 680 will broadcast on the radio.

The Giants are off tomorrow as they sing their way to Milwaukee and Opening Day with the Brewers. Game time is 11:10 am, our time and Madison Bumgarner is scheduled to pitch. That’s when the games will start to count. #letsgoGIANTS
