Well, that’s gonna leave a mark. The GIANTS came out swinging in last night’s game against the Rockies at AT&T Park. I was pretty much satisfied that we had this one in the bag. I swear Baseball Gods–I didn’t mean to be smug.
But, there we were, with a 2-run lead, it was the top of the 9th, Romo had the ball, and the only thing left to do was finish them off. When Romo is on the mound that’s generally how it works. But not always. It was just one of those nights. I don’t know what happened. It was Friday the 13th. There was a full moon. I was using a hand-drawn score sheet. It could be any one of those things.
Besides, Romo didn’t blow it all by himself. He had help. It’s a shame because until the 9th, everything was working. The Rockies scored 5 runs in the top of the 9th, and retired the GIANTS hitters in the bottom of the 9th…1, 2, 3. The final score was:
GIANTS 4, Rockies 7
I think that’s the most depressing post I’ve ever written, so let’s get to the fun stuff!
This is just shameless commercial promotion. If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a drink or coffee, a meal or snack, before the game or after the game, head over to Market Bar in the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. They have a full bar, great appetizers, and a fabulous breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. On the weekends they have an amazing brunch.
It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the City, or even watch the game on one of their big-screen TVs. Stop by and ask for Ernie. Tell him the Gamer Babe sent you.
