If someone had asked me what was going on at The Yard last night, I would have said “well, it looks like the Nationals are in town putting on an extra base hitting clinic!” Because that’s what it looked like. Here is a very short summary of what happened. I’m not going to go into great detail because that would require I talk about the game WAY more than I want.
The GIANTS scored 2 runs. In the 2nd, Colvin hit a double, then scored on Crawford’s base hit. Crawford attempted to stretch it to a double, but got called out at 2nd. In the 8th, Perez hit a single, Blanco followed with a single, moving Perez over to 2nd, and Arias followed with an RBI single, scoring Perez. That was it for the GIANTS. Vogelsong gave it a good shot, but the Nats hitters were just seeing him too well.
The Nationals scored 9 runs on 12 hits. 8 of those hits were extra base hits. The final score was:
GIANTS 2, Nationals 9
I’m going to repeat myself. I’m not worried because, remember–it’s baseball!–there’s always the next day! Stay tuned for a recap of tonight’s game between the Nats and the GIANTS.
Now that we have a minute, I want to talk to all of you. I recapped a couple of games using pictures sent by friends. I would love to use yours too! If you go to a game, as soon as possible after the game ends, send photos and comments so I can include your stuff in my blog.
